We explored more than 550 kilometers of Western Australia’s breathtaking landscapes in a brand-new Ford Ranger Twin Cab, equipped with a camper from TLX4X4 in Perth, WA, provided by Adventure West 4X4 Rentals.
A New Ride for a New Adventure
The Ford Ranger was the perfect choice for our road trip. When we picked it up, it had only 1,700 km on the odometer and by the time we returned, it had about 3,300 km. My daughter, used to driving a Mazda CX-9, initially found the Ranger a bit bulky. However, she quickly adapted, thanks to the large rearview mirrors and a reversing camera, which were especially useful for tight parking spots.
On the Road: Power and Comfort
Driving through Australia’s highways and diverse terrains was exhilarating. The Ford Ranger’s strong performance made overtaking easy, and its comfortable seats ensured a smooth experience, even during our longest leg to Geraldton, which took over four hours. The vehicle handled flat roads and mountainous paths beautifully, making the drive fun and engaging.
Comfort and Convenience
The camper, installed by TLX4X4, was a perfect addition to our setup. It came with essential kitchen utensils, a small fridge, and inverters that converted DC power from the vehicle’s batteries into AC power for our appliances. This thoughtful feature allowed us to enjoy the comforts of home while on the road.
Family Fun and Bonding
Our trip was more than just a journey; it was a chance for family bonding. With my teenage grandchildren, ages 12 and 14, growing up so fast, these moments of togetherness are priceless. Despite the trip being short, the experiences and memories we made were rich and fulfilling.
