We operate late-model, low kilometer vehicles and maintain them to a higher standard than that recommended by the manufacturer.

However sometimes faults can develop, even in modern, well maintained vehicles. Particularly when operating in off-road or rough conditions.

If you need roadside assistance, please contact RAC on 13 11 11 and quote the vehicle registration number. Issues such as flat batteries, flat tyres or low fuel will be rectified by RAC and there will be no need to notify us.

If RAC cannot rectify the problem, they will contact us and we will work with them and you to get the vehicle to a repairer to have the fault diagnosed and repaired.

If the vehicle cannot be repaired in a timely manner, we will attempt to provide you with a substitute vehicle, subject to availability and your location.

Some things to keep in mind, particularly if you are operating in remote areas.

The more remote you operate the vehicle, the less resources are available. Getting assistance to you, rectifying faults or obtaining parts in remote parts of Australia will likely take significant time and in some cases may take days.

  1. Due to the vast distances in Australia, it may also not always be viable or possible to swap you into a substitute vehicle if the vehicle you are using develops a fault. Whilst we will always consider this, we cannot guarantee this option.
  2. Roadside assistance is not available everywhere. If you take our vehicle to an area where our Roadside Assist is not available, you will be required to pay for the cost of transporting the vehicle to the nearest RAC depot or repairer (regardless of fault).

Many remote locations are not covered by Roadside Assistance.

Whilst we understand that a fault may lead to some delay and inconvenience, Adventure West 4×4 Rentals does not pay compensation for missed flights, inconvenience or other loss suffered.

We strongly encourage all hirers to take out travel insurance to cover this instance.

We preform comprehensive quality control checks on our vehicles and equipment prior to every rental. However sometimes unexpected faults can develop, particularly when the vehicle is operating in off-road or rough conditions.

If a fault develops in the camping equipment and it will not cause too much inconvenience, we will likely just take a note and have it rectified when you return.

If a fault develops that will cause you inconvenience, we will have to work together to find a solution. For example we may:

  1. (depending on your level of technical skill) work with you on the phone to see if you can undertake repairs yourself;
  2. ask you to purchase a similar, replacement item and then reimburse you for the cost; or
  3. find a local repairer and ask you to take the vehicle to them.

We understand that this may delay your journey however these steps will be necessary in order to rectify the fault.

Please contact us immediately if you have any problems with your vehicle or accessories.

No. Unfortunately our vehicles are not equipped to tow.
